Current Air Filter Technology

Most filters today (such as pollen filters) fitted in vehicles use HEPA filter technology, which is designed to remove large particles from the air, but are unable to remove the most toxic pollutants. We, at Healthy Air Technology, use a new nano-material developed at Oxford University that not only removes large particles but removes all the most dangerous pollutants commonly found in high traffic areas.

DNO Pollution Eraser Technology

The Healthy air cleansing products use a new innovative filtration system developed at Oxford University. We call this technology the 'Pollution Eraser.', D-Orbital Nano Oxide (DNO) The Pollution Eraser technology has two parts.
Carrier - Activated charcoal. The material that is used in military gas masks, and captures pollutants within the pores of the charcoal.
Transition metal oxides - The innovative technology. Transition metal oxides are coated in the activated charcoal to form catalysts, and these catalysts break down pollutants and toxic gasses into harmless chemicals, and then release these harmless materials back into the atmosphere. For example, one of the most deadly toxins in polluted air is Nitrogen dioxide. Our DNO 'Pollution Eraser' catalyst system is able to break the nitrogen dioxide down into harmless substances.

The Nano scale transition metal oxides in the catalyst component can catalytically convert NOX and SOX into nitrate and elemental sulphur, then remove it.

Performance Comparision with Activated Carbon

Test Procedure
1) Adjust the flow rate so that the experimental airspeed was 135000 h-1.

2) Formaldehyde concentration of the treated gas and untreated gas was measured, and the efficiency of the one-way removal of formaldehyde was calculated.

3) The formaldehyde concentration was measured against international standard GB/T 16129 using phenol reagent spectrophotometry.

Conclusion:
After 2 hours of operation, the single-pass removal efficiency of formaldehyde (Pollution Eraser industry) was 95.3%, which was much higher than that of 8.2% of a famous brand of activated carbon. Comparison of test results is as below on the right.

Performance Comparision (for car)

Procedure:
1. Inject 0.2 ml of formaldehyde solution with a mass ratio of 37-40% into a sealed chamber of 1.6m3. The blower is purged for 2 hours and allowed to stand for 24 hours, so that the concentration of formaldehyde in the tank is uniformly stable.

2. Put the filter element and fan into the experimental cabin and measure the starting formaldehyde concentration as 1.57mg/m3.

3. Start the fan and start timing. Take a sample every 10 minutes. The experimental results are shown in figure.

Conclusion:
1. Pollution Eraser has the ability to quickly eliminate formaldehyde, reducing the formaldehyde concentration from 1.57 mg/m3 to 0.07 mg/m3 in 35 minutes.

2. It is feasible to integrate the filter to a car air-conditioning. The internal circulation of the air-conditioning in the vehicle can quickly eliminate the formaldehyde or other pollutants from the vehicle.
